Chasing Blueberry Ice Cream
Category: Stories

I wrote this poem today 7-3-18, as somewhat of a comical silly salute to my late best friend Andrew whom passed away of cancer on 7-5-07. Blueberry ice cream was his favorite ice cream. I really have been wanting to taste it for the eleven years now. R. I. P. Andrew. I love you and miss you so tremendously.

Chasing Blueberry Ice Cream

It has been eleven years my precious best friend

Since your life's journey on Earth came to an end.

Still the only time I have ever tasted Blueberry ice cream

Was in your story and in my dream.

I have been chasing Blueberry ice cream.

I have been chasing it forever it would seem.

For eleven years it has been something I wanted to taste.

Blueberry Ice Cream is not something I would ever waste.

I am chasing Blueberry ice cream around this Earth.

I started chasing it twenty nine years after my birth.

Yes, I am chasing Andrew's Blueberry ice cream

Even in my wild and crazy dream.

Andrew, I am chasing Blueberry ice cream.

Help me catch it in life outside my dream.

Blueberry ice cream is playing hide and seek.

It won't even come out of hiding and let me take a peek.

I am chasing Blueberry ice cream.

I am chasing it outside of my dream.

I am chasing Blueberry ice cream.

If it has its way, I would never catch it, it would seem.

Blueberry ice cream come out from where ever you are.

You cannot be hiding very far.

Are you hiding in a freezer, in a store, or even a car?

Come out of hiding wherever you are.

I am chasing Blueberry ice cream.

I am chasing it around the galaxy it would seem.

I am chasing Blueberry ice cream even in my dream.

When I find it, my eyes will shine with gleam.
